Build mega prison in Alaska at the furthest point away from civilization. Move all violent criminals to location. Guards can work 3 month shifts and be housed at adjacent facility. There will be limited luxury in this prison. The environment will be a harsh deterrent to escape. This will also create more space in our current prison systems for medium risk offenders. We could change the direction of our war on gun control which is dividing the country and work together to solve the problem. With 60% of the violent crime committed by 10% of the criminals lets just eliminate the threat and send them to a very unpleasant location that they would not like. I would imagine that the firearms industries could make large donations to this as well as the victims groups.
