Build for our future, and match rail infrastructure funding with highway funding.

Created by W.H. on December 31, 2012

We have allowed our rail system to fall behind the demands made by commerce and the public. We need to 2-way (2-lane) nationwide system with connections to more cities and communities. The mass transit portion of the rail lines need to be connected to major airports. The heavy freight lines need to remain separated from the transit lines and connect to more shipping yards with easier drop-off and pick-up. Failure, to act on these upgrades will only cont. to add to the cost of doing business and place us further and further behind developed countries in a competitive marketplace. Increasing the ease of travel and reducing its environmental impact is just another great benefit. But it will also make it easier to look for work, helping the unemployed.
