The building of a tunnel would provide both short and long term jobs to both the CT and NY areas and open up job markets as well as link the New England area with Long Island.
The tunnel would provide numerous economic benefits including access to jobs in both regions, ease traffice congestion in the NY City area, and provide evacuation access during times of disaster, natural or otherwise from Long Island which currently does not exist other than going through the NY City region.
The tunnel would connect i95 in Connecticut with county road route 97 which feeds into i495.
