The 2nd amendment gives everyone “the right to bear arms” but a ‘loop hole’ is the ammunition that goes with those firearms. Make laws requiring higher prices & taxes for ammo, ALL gun owners to carry a license and mandatory background check for assault rifles, semi-automatic rifles and hand guns.
In the case of District of Columbia v. Heller, 554 U.S. 570 (2008), the Supreme Court ruled that the Second Amendment is not unlimited. It is not a right to keep and carry any weapon whatsoever in any manner whatsoever and for whatever purpose". They also clarified that many longstanding prohibitions and restrictions on firearms possession listed by the Court are consistent with the Second Amendment
