Currently the Bureau of Land Management is charging grazing rights of $1.35 per month when private land is averaging a price of $20.10 per month in the same regions.
These rights currently pay for 15% of the BLM budget while the other 85% of it's budget is paid for by taxpayer dollars. So by giving a 93% discount to ranchers using BLM land, taxpayers are having to foot the bill that should be paid by those using the land. By resetting the BLM prices to fluctuate with commercial rates this would be help to reduce government subsidies in business while benefiting the average taxpayer.
It would be beneficial to businesses in the region by allowing them to actually compete with other businesses currently granted subsidies due to location.
