People are worried about too many guns on the street, in the wrong hands, doing massive harm. Since pro-gun communities say that regulation and laws would be ignored by the criminal element, let's try another tack. I suggest we offer everyone to voluntarily turn in their guns for cash. No questions, no background checks, no limit on quantity. Give these folks cash for as many weapons as they turn in. More than likely, they'd rather have money anyway in these economic times. And to sweeten the deal, let's offer them 2 times the market value for pistols, and 4 times the market value for automatic weapons, etc. Finally after all the weapons have been collected, we need to have them destroyed. I don't want to see them redistributed or resold.
