Often police kill people for no reason, such as the recent accident victim who was running toward the police for help. Had they been shot with jacketed bullets or plain bullets, their life could almost certainly have been saved. If domestic (including police) use of hollow point bullets was banned in 1899 John Lennon would be alive today.
It is not guns that kill people, it is hollow point bullets that are killing 30,000 people every year in this country. Pay $10 per bullet the first year and a dollar less each year. After the tenth year, apply a $100 fine for each hollow point bullet that anyone still has.
