We are enormously disappointed by the inaction of the President to join both the Republican and Democratic congressional members who have already passed bipartisan legislation to provide more flexibility in the management of our precious resource.
We urgently request that the President of the United States:
Engage in bipartisan talks with members of the California Congressional delegation, most notably Senator Dianne Feinstein;
Immediately assume the primary leadership role in implementing measures to resolve the California water crisis through executive order; and
Direct federal agencies under his control to provide for the flexibility in the management of water for the state’s urban, rural and farming communities while balancing the needs of the environment.
