California National Guard Re-Enlistment Bonus

Created by C.P. on October 24, 2016

After the Vietnam War, The United States military became an all volunteer service. Currently, California National Guard service personnel are being required to return reenlistment bonuses because the Department of Defense (DOD) cannot find their enlistment contracts. We, the American citizens, have been provided the safety provided by our military. We have asked these citizens to risk their lives and safety in order to safeguard the freedom they provide. DOD should be prohibited from requiring return of the reenlistment bonuses based on DOD's poor contract maintenance. Failure to change this policy or law endangers the safety of the United States by reducing the number of volunteers willing to serve in our all volunteer military.
