Whereas, many politicians in the U.S. Congress have manipulated its original intent and have abandoned their fundamental duty set forth by our Founding Fathers …to "serve the will of the public majority,"
Whereas, Congress has become a "ruling elite" of career, professional politicians whose only goal is to keep themselves in office,
Whereas, the voices of the people cannot hope to compete with the corporate-funded special interests to compete for attention from Congressmen who themselves are wholly owned subsidiaries of those corporations,
We the undersigned request that the President ask for legislation limiting Congressional terms to six years for the House and 12 years for the Senate, as precedented by the 22nd Amendment limiting the term of the President.
