Call on the American people to open their homes to children seeking asylum from violence in Central America

We, the signees of this petitions are calling upon President Obama to formally ask the American public to open their homes and act as foster families to the children who have bravely traveled to our borders to ask the United States to help them escape violence in their home countries. We believe that, if asked, many of the citizens of this country will gladly open their arms, their hearts and their homes to these children and provide them the safety, comfort and support they deserve. We further ask the President to call upon The Congress to allocate necessary funds to properly place, shelter and educate these children as we would any foster child.
