Call on America's "Entertainment" Industry to scale back the gratuitous violence in music, movies, TV, books, magazines

Created by J.M. on December 21, 2012

Life imitating art or art imitating life? The lines between decency were crossed long ago and the envelope continues to be pushed with regards to how much violence pervades our society. Gratuitous violence in movies, music, books, mags and videogames has become so prevalent that you can't even watch a COMMERCIAL without violence being shoved down your throat. This CULTURE OF VIOLENCE has led to such shameful, horrific acts such as the shootings in Tucsion Colorado; WI, Clackamas County, and-most recently-Newtown It's no secret - those in the"entertainment" industry not only glorify violence, they make it "sexy" and extremely profitable. Before renouncing the 2nd Amendment, we need to take a good hard look at the 1st - which artists "claim" protects their violence.
