Republican Presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson recently stated: "I would not advocate that we put a Muslim in charge of this nation. I absolutely would not agree with that." He went on to say that Islam is inconsistent with the Constitution.
Had Dr. Carson substituted in the religion of Judaism, Mormonism, Catholicism, or almost any other religion, he would likely have shamefully withdrawn from the race. However, because anti-Muslim sentiment in America persists, his remarks are unlikely to affect his republican frontrunner status. We call on the administration to do what it can to change this unfortunate reality and demonstrate to the world that Dr. Carson’s bigotry has no place in America or American politics.
We ask that you call on Dr. Carson to withdraw from the Presidential race.
