Not only are we unable to secure our borders, but the existing immigration policies that are in place break up families and cause devastating separations. These separations are affecting American citizens all over the country. Families are the foundation of society, and Americans have the opportunity and obligation to support and encourage them, especially when it involves American family members. H.R. 2095 is stuck in judiciary committee and needs to be voted on and passed by Congress to offer a path to citizenship to those whose only crime was being here illegally. Fatherless and motherless homes are detrimental to American communities, and both parties in Congress need to show that they are willing to work together to find a solution.
