The 2nd Amendment to the constitution is ambiguous at best when describing the right to keep and bear arms. There continues to be factions on both sides of the gun issue that use the ambiguity to defend their point of view. Many people have forgotten that the Constitution is a living document, and may be from time to time changed to reflect the times we live in. My proposal is to amend the "keep and bear arms" clause with a line granting Congress the right to make laws to regulate and control firearms, similar to the clause in the 21st Amendment allowing Congress to regulate and control alcohol. This clause would then leave no doubt as to the constitutionality of gun control laws, and would allow Congress to mold the meaning of the 2nd amendment to changing times.
