Call on Congress to Declare Federal Election Day to be a Biennial Federal Holiday and as such a Paid Day Off from Work

Created by R.M. on January 18, 2013

There are numerous federal holidays; but only six major ones that are traditionally accompanied with a paid day off from work. Those six are: New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

Sure there are additional federal holidays such as MLK Day, Washington's Birthday, Columbus Day, and Veterans Day that some workers may receive a paid day off from work by means of a Floating (Option) Holiday.

Independence Day is a great American holiday; rightfully so. It celebrates the day on which our Founding Fathers declared these United States to be a free sovereign nation. Then they fought to secure and retain that freedom and those rights.

Every two years in November, Americans Vote for their Representation; and on that day: We Should Celebrate.
