Whereas, the expenses of the Obama family's vacations amount to approximately $96,938,882.51. The United States is currently in a financial crisis and enormous debt. We, the taxpayers, cannot afford extraneous expenses.
Whereas, Obama promised in 2008 that he would give up vacations if elected and has summarily broken his promise.
Whereas, the Obama family could easily have paid for their vacations on the presidential salary.
Whereas, the vacation money was a personal expense for Obama and did not benefit the American People in any way.
Therefore, we, the undersigned, demand that Congress call for Obama, upon leaving the White House, to return these funds in full to the U.S. Congress. Congress should then return this money to taxpayers in the form of a tax refund.
