The GOP nominee said he's release his tax returns once the audit is complete. He has said that this audit may owe to religious discrimination against him for being a Christian. He has also demanded that other nominees release their returns.
So at to remove this obstacle for the release of these returns, it is the national interest, and it is incumbent on the IRS to assign additional staff to complete this audit by no later than the end of August, exactly as the FBI expedited its email investigation of the Democratic presidential nominee. The IRS is indirectly interfering with the election process, and with voters' ability to assess the issue. If the audit is being delayed by the nominee's responses, or if expediting it is otherwise impossible, the IRS must immediately halt the audit.
