call on congress to end the drug war, our second failed experiment with prohibition.

Created by J.B. on December 08, 2015

America's first experiment with prohibition was an epic failure. Violent crime increased, organized crime was empowered, agencies were corrupted and ordinary citizens made criminals. This disaster is still in progress! Our second attempt has repeated the mistakes of alcohol prohibition while adding mass incarceration, militarized police forces, civil asset forfeiture, loss of civil liberties, billions wasted yearly, etc... denying patients safe access to needed medicine, while failing to meaningfully address drug abuse by adults or teens. This misguided policy hurts citizens everyday and will continue to until it's stopped. We call on the president to use his last SOTU address to direct congress to make ending this destructive policy a priority in the first legislative session of 2016.
