Over 5 months ago, on February 22, 2016, President Obama requested emergency funding to stem the inevitable threat caused by the Zika Virus. This virus, if acquired by pregnant women, causes horrific damage to a developing fetus.
Congress has not only ignored the request, they went on vacation early. Seven weeks into their vacation we now have the first cases of locally transmitted Zika in Miami, Florida. Their inaction has allowed a destructive virus on to our shores.
Urge Congress to end their vacation and DO THEIR JOB. Use common sense to protect America's borders by approving this emergency funding.
