Dear Congress,
We the People of the United States have been in what constitutes a contract with you for 237 years. We pay our taxes in order to pay for Government. This past October, you were in breach of that contract for 16 days by shutting down the Government.
We the People fully expect the following in reparations:
1. A full and formal public apology.
2. A new law added to the tax code for 2014 and forward that states if the Government is ever shut down for any reason, a tax credit will be issued, pro-rated for the amount of time the Government is shut down.
3. A refund equal to the pro-rated amount of our taxes due for 2013.
If these reparations are not met by April 15, 2014, We the People will hold you in contempt and vote “anti-incumbent” across the ballot in November of 2014.
