We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Call on Congress to propose a Constitutional amendment limiting all elected offices to a maximum of 2 terms

Created by L.H. on June 05, 2016

In order for the people to reestablish control over the government and to limit the influence exerted by outside interests it is necessary to limit all elected offices to a maximum of two terms whether consecutive or non consecutive. This would limit the ability of office holders to institute long term policy that benefits special interest and would ensure new ideas infusing government with new energy. It would eliminate career politicians who were in office for personal gain and retirement benefits. It would allow for a more timely exit of office holders with ethical problems. Finally it would require the electorate to be more involved in evaluating and selecting office holders on a timely basis.
