Call a Constitutional Convention

We the undersigned petition the United States Senate and House of Representative to call a Constitutional Convention as prescribed in Article V of the Constitution of the United States for the purpose of empowering an individual state legislature to secede from the Union when said state legislature determines that the federal government has exceeded its Constitutional authority. This petition in no way shall be interpreted to mean that the sovereign people in each state do not already have this right nor to mean that they do not have the right to throw off any government which denies them life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. However, the purpose of this petition is to reaffirm that right and to add it to the Constitution of the United States.
