The Washington DC NFL team use a logo that is an ugly stereotype of Native Americans and the team name is a derogatory slur that is linked to historic practice of scalping Native Americans for bounties.
Dan Snyder, the owner, has steadfastly refused to change the name. It's past time to ratchet up the pressure on the team and the NFL to change the name. The Washington DC basketball team has done it. States around the nation have enacted policies to ban the use of ethnic slurs for school mascots.
President Obama, please address this issue. Call on the NAACP, MALDEF and other organizations to support this charge.
