America is divided over race relations in light of recent events, especially police shootings of blacks and the massacre of white police officers in Dallas; but also due to longstanding resentments over past injustices. Mr. President, please call for a national day of reconciliation, and implore every community to hold a town hall meeting on that day. Ask police officers, Black Lives Matter supporters and every other citizen of goodwill to come together and dialogue honestly, respectfully and with open minds, so that perceived gaps between segments of our society can be bridged and Americans of all stripes can be reminded that we're all on the same side. This will go a long way towards restoring trust in and unity with our neighbors, and between our protectors and the people they protect.
