The Democratic National Committee (DNC) has recently rolled back restrictions introduced by President Barack Obama in 2008 that banned donations from federal lobbyists and political action committees. This action guarantees both the further subversion of the public interest by private, wealthy interests and the fundamental undermining of democracy in America.
When calling for this ban on donations from lobbyists/PACs, President Obama stated that they "will not fund my party. They will not run our White House. And they will not drown out the voice of the American people when I’m president of the United States of America." We call on the Obama Administration to condemn the DNC's decision to remove these restrictions and accordingly it's attempt to drown out the voice of the American people.
