The Founding Fathers of this great nation embued our system with a set of checks and balances. These safe-guards insure the function of the three branches of government as independent autonomous authorities. They also safe-guard the electorate from a rash mob-reaction in the election of our head of state. This year's Presidential Election is the first time in our Nation's history where the winning candidate is defined by his own statements and record as morally bankrupt, divorced of respect for our institutions, and openly engaged with and supported by a host of historically terroristic domestic hate groups. Large sections of the population are afraid, and some are already experiencing hate-crime at a dramatically elevated rate. We need the Electorial College to correct this error.
