Call for the end of discrimination against unemployed workers who are over 50 years old.

Created by C.B. on April 23, 2013

Studies show that unemployed workers who are over 50 years old have a much harder time finding employment. The length of their unemployment is also greater than the unemployed who are younger. Those who are older have greater experience, tend to stay in positions longer and are largely past the need to balance work and raising a young family. It is time for employers to embrace the strengths of the mature worker and stop discriminating against them in the hiring process. Workers over 50 years of age a lot to offer and deserve an equal chance to use their skills in the workplace.

We call for President Obama to recognize the problem and address the issue through speech and direct action.
