Under Article II, Section 3 of the Constitution, the President can call for an extraordinary session of Congress when Congress is adjourned[1]. In the 274 days of 2015, there have been 294 mass shooting[2]. This is an extraordinary situation. We call on President Obama to call for extraordinary sessions of Congress immediately following every adjournment, preventing Congress from taking any holidays until such time as Congress has passed meaningful gun violence legislation.
