Call for Federal Investigation into the wrongful death of Jonathan Sanders of Stonewall, MS.

Created by C.H. on July 19, 2015

Jonathan Sanders, a 39-year-old Stonewall, MS resident, died last Wednesday evening following an altercation with an officer. Sanders -- who owned horses and a buggy -- was exercising his horses when he was approached by officer Kevin Herrington.

Herrington allegedly grabbed a headlight tied around Sanders' head, pulling it down to his neck and yanking him to the ground. Sanders' body was slumped down in a "praying position" as Herrington allegedly wrapped his arms around the man's neck, placing him a chokehold, Lawrence said

The family witnesses could see Sanders struggling, saying, "Let me go, I can't breathe" before his death.

A witness told the attorneys that after Sanders left, Herrington allegedly said, "I'm gonna get that n****r."
