The Venezuelan government is fiercely attacking its opposition by threatening its followers, removing politicians from their positions, accusing its leader of inciting violence and repressing peaceful demonstrations to avoid a recount of the votes in almost certainly fraudulent elections.
The violence seems to have ended, but the government remains intransigent, a legal recourse for the recount of votes was introduced, but the regime-friendly Electoral Council is unlikely to accept it (if the fraud is real, they did it). The next step is to take the case to the supreme court which would, again, rule in favour of the regime.
An impartial intermediary must be set to ensure that the discussion between government and opposition is transparent and free of unfounded accusations.
