...call for legislation to create a "Victims of Gun Violence Recovery Fund" to help cover all expenses due to gun wounds

Created by N.C. on August 08, 2012

We urge President Obama to call for legislation to create a "Victims of Gun Violence Recovery Fund" to help victims of criminally-inflicted gunshot wounds to financially survive the shooting.

This Fund would collect a nominal fee placed upon the sale of each round of ammunition sold within the United States - and upon each round of ammunition sold for receipt by a purchaser within the United States.

The monies collected by the "Victims of Gun Violence Recovery Fund" would be used to `make whole', individuals who have sustained medical expenses, rehabilitation expenses, mental health costs and loss-of-earnings due to wounds suffered in criminal shooting episodes, such as Aurora, CO and Oak Creek, WI.

Being wounded is horrible enough; being bankrupted by those wounds is so much worse.
