The founders of our country intended for the government to be led by citizen legislators, not by life-long career politicians. A large part of the current problems that our country is facing is due to the fact that there are no term limits on congressional offices leading to career politicians caring more about keeping their job than actually helping the people of this nation.
By limiting the terms of Senators to two terms, no Senator will hold their office for more than 12 years and by limiting Representatives to four terms, no Rep will be in office for more than 8 years. This will help keep Congress fresh and keep those who are voted into office focused on the will of the people who elected them.
Congress needs to be reformed and terms should be limited just like the President.
