Amend the US Constitution to restrict house of representives members to 4 consecutive terms and senators to 2 consective terms. In addition, once out of office, the ex-member is not allowed to run again until they have satisfied the longer of 4 years, for house members, and 6 years, for senators, or an amont of time equal to that which they were in office.

Fifteen states currently have term limits for their legislative branch.
A Gallop poll relesed in mid January 2013 shows 75% of americans are in favor of term limits. Republicans polled supported term lits 82% to 15%, Independents 79% in favor and democrats 65% in favor.
