NASA's mission is more important than ever. Other developing nations are entering the space arena and the US needs to remain a global leader.
NASA's current budget is $17B. A one-cent, national sales tax would generate approximately $50B a year in revenue for the agency.
A visual tax like this would also remind every American of the investment that they are making into our space program. It would promote the industry and encourage more job creation around it.
We have entered a new space age and NASA's current budget doesn't reflect that at all. It is time for aggressive, and inspiring action.
