The Selective Service System's registration should be voluntary. Without it being voluntary, it is violating the First Amendment to the United States Constitution for many men by not allowing them to exercise their religion freely, as many religions take on a stance for peace.
Men who do not support violence are deprived of many things for not registering. A male who does not register is denied the right to financial aid from FAFSA, which is also required for many scholarships; registration is also required to obtain a driver's license in many states; and males who fail to register can also be denied United States citizenship.
