The 2nd Amendment is dated and a danger to the country. It is time for the United States to move into a more peaceful future. We are no longer threatened by the forces we faced in 1788. We lost 11,078 lives to gun related homicides in 2010. That is more than the combined US deaths of the September 11, 2011 attacks, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
If the founding fathers had intended for the constitution to remain unchanged they would not have left us with the ability to amend it.
