A senior House Republican is calling for a select committee to investigate the Benghazi attacks, echoing similar demands from Senate Republicans in recent days.
Rep. Frank Wolf (R-Va.) wrote in a letter to Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) that a special panel be established "immediately."
Republican Sens. John McCain of Arizona, Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire made a similar demand earlier this month, but congressional scrutiny has grown exponentially since the disclosure of former CIA Director David Petraeus's affair and his subsequent resignation from the agency. Petraeus had been scheduled to testify on the Benghazi attacks this week.
