The President should use his power to call for a special congress to request that Congress pass a budget that should be balanced within 4 years. The President and most members have expressed frustration with the inability of Congress to create a budget which is acceptable to both houses and the President. With this in mind, they should prioritize creating a budget and not end their current session until such a budget has been passed by both houses and signed by the President. It is Congress' duty to allocate federal funds and assess federal taxes. The status quo is unsustainable and both the Congress and President have acted irresponsibly in handling both taxes and spending. Given this, they should not be granted time away from their duties as representatives of the people.
