We petition the Obama administration to call for the suspension of Egypt's UN seat until the democratically elected President is reinstated after the Military coup which occurred on July 3rd 2013.
The UN requirement to hold a seat states that it “is open to all peace-loving States that accept the obligations contained in the United Nations Charter and, in the judgment of the Organization, are able to carry out these obligations”.
What is currently happening in Egypt contradicts what the UN stands for.
The Military is involved in massacres of innocent civilians, it has illegally detained the legitimate President, Dr. Mohamed Morsi and is arresting members of the legitimate governing party.
