Brock Turner, a Stanford University student, sexually assaulted a young women in a back alley behind a dumpster while she was unconscious. For his actions, he receives a mere six months in county jail. This penalty is a slap on the wrist, and an insult to the victim. The justice system has failed her by letting Turner get off easy, and not be held accountable for his actions. We need tougher enforcement for mandatory minimum sentencing for sexual crimes.
