"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." - George Santayana
On May 9th, Russia is commemorating the Defeat of Nazi Germany. This day has been set aside as Victory in Europe Day. With tensions between the United States and Russia, many are calling for a boycott of these festivities which are being held in Moscow. The purpose of this petition is to put aside any political misgivings and to commemorate what this holiday was created for - remembering the cost of World War II in Europe.
The modern-day tensions with Russia could escalate into another World War. Before things get to this point it is important to remember the past and the cost that war has on not only the military but also civilians. Remember the 61,000,000 men, women, and children who lost their lives.
