The Congress of the United States has failed the American people. They failed to pass reasonable gun legislations, and tried to justify their failure by lying about the content of the bill. They have provided sequester relief for themselves and their friends, but not for the average Americans or the poor. They have shown cowardice in the face of the pressure of powerful lobbies like the NRA. They no longer serve the American people. The Congress should draft a letter of apology, seeking forgiveness, and promising the American people that they will do the work for which they were elected, and will put the concerns of the American people first.
