Currently, top universities who provide the greatest opportunity for economic mobility do not accept transfer students from America's diverse community colleges.
If President Obama required universities to admit 20% of their students from community colleges in order to continue receiving federal aid, these universities would open the doors of opportunity to tens of thousands of military veterans, low income and minority students.
Currently top universities like Stanford and Harvard provide more opportunities to international students than they do to American citizens who attend community colleges after high school. Shouldn't the same opportunities also be extended to highly qualified transfer applicants from low income communities or those who served in the military?
