Call upon the International Community to urge that a full recount of votes be done in Pakistan's May 11th elections

Created by Z.H. on May 13, 2013

Events transpiring on May 11th in Pakistan are troubling. The newly elected government has failed to accept the democratic will of the Pakistani people. This translated into thousands of documented occasions of voting irregularities, inhibiting the people from exercising their inalienable right to vote including vote rigging by denying registered voters at the polls (especially women), destroying votes cast, and voter intimidation by threatening voters at gunpoint.

In a democratic state, there is no reason why the government should refuse a recount. That is why I urge the Obama Administration to refuse to accept the results of the Pakistani elections up until there has been a full recount and refuse to recognize the legitimacy of any government until there are no doubts of corruption.
