Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) has repeatedly made unacceptable and slanderous comments about his peers. He falsely suggested that Secretary of Defense Nominee Chuck Hagel has received speaking fees from North Korea, and falsely proclaimed that many of his colleagues at Harvard Law School were Communists plotting to take over the United States government.
This behavior is similar to that of former Joseph McCarthy (R-WI), who was ultimately censured by the Senate for his behavior.
We ask that President Obama call upon the United States Senate to likewise censure Senator Cruz for this deplorable behavior.
