Call on Yemen for the release of Abdulelah Haider Shaye from house arrest and denounce the imprisonment of journalists.

Created by C.L. on December 08, 2013

Yemeni journalist Abdulelah Haider Shaye was imprisoned by the Yemeni government in 2011 at the request of President Obama following reporting on a 2009 US-fired Tomahawk cruise missile attack in Yemen that killed 14 women and 21 children. Shave was imprisoned for no other reason than to silence his voice. The imprisonment was censured by Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, the Committee to Protect Journalists, and the International Federation of Journalists, protesting that charges of terrorism were completely specious. After much reporting on this maleficence, the Yemeni government released Shave to house arrest, where he will remain for the next 2 years.

Help restore the credibility of the US by compelling the President to use his power to free Shaye.
