Campaign Finance Reform

Created by R.B. on September 24, 2011

The fundamental problem with our political process is that our elected officials are completely disconnected from their constituency due to the fact that they are beholden to special interests and lobbyists for the funding of their campaigns; therefore, we need Campaign Finance Reform. To fix this, we need to create a blind trust funded by all individuals that are interested in insuring a fair election. This fund would be used to finance weekly debates chaired by scholars and recognized experts in their professions. These debates would address real substantive issues to address the complex problems that face our nation. It remains the civic duty of our elected officials to bring the wishes of their constituents to the legislative process. It is the heart of the Democratic Governance.
