Campaign Finance Reform to End Outside Influence of Local Elections.

This is a petition to ensure that the voters in a district, from presidential elections to local sheriff, are the voters who matter most in an election. Our current campaign finance system allows large organizations and wealthy individuals to put millions of dollars into whatever political campaign they desire. The U.S. Supreme Court says they have a 1st amendment right to do this. The goal of this petition is to ensure that our elected representatives must compete for votes by appealing directly to the voters in their district instead of the political donors who can fund their commercials. The goal is to ensure that local elections are not influenced by special interests that do not have interests within the boundaries of the office being sought.
