Campaign Finance Reform: Have Candidates Prove Their Worth

Created by S.A. on June 26, 2016

Campaign spending in the United States is quite exorbitant. A recent New-York-Times article stated that Donald Trump only has $1 million dollars in his run for office, which, according to the periodical, is barely enough to run for the House of Representatives.

I propose a system that challenges candidates' ability to resolve our debt. In this system, all candidates has a fixed and equal amount of money. By giving the candidates only a certain amount of money, we will see how savvy they are money, and we will judge their ability to lessen our national debt. Furthermore, the millions--even billions--spent on campaigning will be able to be put to better uses, such as alleviating the national debt, helping impoverished Americans, and otherwise improving these United States of America.
